(Bismarck, ND) — 701 Crew, the brand known for its involvement with independent rock and metal bands from around the region, continues to own the local concert circuit with their forthcoming event taking place this summer with headlining act Orwell making its return to North Dakota. Orwell delivered an amazing performance back in April at the World War Scene concert event, one of the many 15+ acts to perform at the show. The upcoming concert, which is operated by promoter [and founder of 701 Crew] Lane Hoffer, will take place on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 in Mandan, ND at The Post [2 miles south of Mandan on Highway 1806], doors will open to the public at 6:00PMct, with the music starting at 7:00PMct! Admission for the event is $5.00 at the door (no advance tickets will be sold for the show).

Orwell is an independent metal band from La Crosse, WI. and are no strangers to performing on stage at various local concert events. The band formed back in 2004 and have witnessed many shapes and sounds over the past four years. 2006 saw the band release "The Undying" — a seven song EP through Zero Budget Records. The disc was the first real recording effort and
Orwell became a legitimate force to be reckoned with in the upper midwest. After several changes to the lineup, which later became a solid group in 2008 (leading the band to breathe a complete new life), the band was out to make a name for themselves.
They have abandoned the "chop and stop" breakdown-focused sound that the metal scene has become over saturated with and taken direction towards a new, more intricately crafted melody and speed focused sound. In a local music scene over crowded with trends and various duplicates — Orwell seeks to prove, if nothing else, that their tuneful, hook-driven blend of thrash metal is no trend and is here to stay.
They released their long-awaited full length album "Endeavors" back on September 22, 2009. The album is a new direction for the band as it sees them barreling through every form of metal possible, from death to thrash, and even elements of progressive metal, it's an album metal fans will enjoy from beginning to end. The band is currently on the road in support of their latest album "Endeavors" — and will be doing a month long tour along side fellow metal group Australis from Minneapolis, MN.
This one night only concert event will also feature performances by Gorgatron [Fargo, ND] and Bismarck/Mandan, ND local metal acts, Vendetta Spoken, Primae Noctis, and It Came From The Sea — this event promises to be an exciting night for local music fans from around the region to simply come out and support live music.
